You have the Lunar Samples, now what? The Apollo Program Workshops at Delphian: Our school hosted a two-week community event with space education workshops open to everyone to attend. Hundreds of students and parents came from all over Oregon to view the NASA moon rocks. Our students lead four learning stations including a VR station where one could see and feel what an Apollo journey would have been like. The interactive group tour concluded with the “Moon Vault” where “special agent” Martinez (see Delphian mag #114) showed the NASA Lunar Samples. The Evergreen Museum, home of the Spruce Goose, also lent artifacts to help further engage the community. Over 750 students and community members experienced the tour.
Solar Eclipse Event at Delphian: The stars aligned or at least the Moon and Sun did when another epic program happened at Delphian. Just under 600 community members took part in this one-day event. This event coincided with the great American Solar Eclipse and featured science booths lead by teachers and students. This event engaged the community with a wonderful view, student and teacher lead science booths and activities as well as the Apollo lunar samples from NASA. The whole day event ended with the local rocketry club that showcased High Powered rockets. (see photos)
